In the latter part of May 2014, I arranged a test fashion and editorial shoot with the awesome Jamaican model Nastashia Mitchell and a very talented Jamaican makeup artist Antoinette “Sashii” Bailey to do a small studio test shoot for portfolio building. I converted the very tiny bedroom I used for the Beauty Shoot with Sabrina into a studio once again and enlisted a fellow photographer, Jamie Barnett to assist me with the shoot. We did a very simple light setup for the shoot, which involved the use of a Paul C. Buff White Lightning strobe, a beauty dish, two white foam core boards on either side of the model and one large Fotodiox 5-in-1 silver reflector on the floor. Due to the size of the room I was limited to using my Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 lens instead of my preferred Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 lens. Nevertheless, we still managed to pull off a great shoot. I experimented with some light leak layers in Photoshop to give it a different a more editorial look. Below are the results from the shoot as well as a set up diagram.
Model: Nastashia Mitchell
Makeup: Antionette “Sashii” Bailey
