In December 2014 I teamed up with a very talented Jamaican designer Franz Christie to do a fashion shoot featuring his designs. The shoot was originally scheduled to be done at Boom Hall Oasis in the lush, green hills of rural Saint Andrew Jamaica. However, the weather would have none of that, and it started to rain, no pour, just when we all assembled to do the shoot. Fortunately, Franz friend, who he brought on the shoot was kind enough to volunteer his apartment for us to do the shoot, thus saving the day! So instead of rescheduling we changed our outdoor shoot to a studio shoot and converted his living room to a small studio.
While shooting one of the swimsuit designs from Franz Christie’s collection, I saw a mask on the wall and instantly an idea bulb lit up in my head! So I told the model, Anna-Lisa Guthrie, to put on the mask for a few frames and that gave birth to this short editorial series titled Anna’s Secret. I used a two light setup for the session, which consisted of a Paul C. Buff AlienBees B800 diffused by a Paul C. Buff PLM Soft Silver Umbrella as the main light and my Nikon SB 910 in a small softbox, places behind the model camera left, for a kick light. I used my Nikon D800 coupled with my Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens for the shoot.
Here are the photos from that impromptu editorial shoot!
